Lan Zheng worked as a clinical pharmacist for over ten years, working alongside nurses and physicians in intensive care units (ICU) at various hospitals (both large academic medical centers and medium sized community hospitals). Witnessing the wonders and pitfalls of western medicine at the bedside of hospital, she decided to go back to school to study Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), doing so fourteen years after she completed her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
Even now as a licensed acupuncturist, learning never stops – she continues to study and research methods from different TCM masters in both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, while working as a Chinese Medicine practitioner and Clinical Pharmacist. Besides taking additional classes locally in order to observe and learn new techniques, she routinely takes the time out to visit hospitals in China and clinics in different parts of the U.S. as well as Canada to further her knowledge. She specializes in pain management, and gastrointestinal issues. She is constantly seeking out new improvements and skills.
Recently, she just completed two courses on infertility treatments, including acupuncture treatment alongside with In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).
In her spare time, she is also a professional photographer – the photos on this website were taken by her. You can visit her photography website at https://lanzheng.smugmug.com
